This information has been shared by Humberside Police to offer advice and guidance that may help you avoid becoming a victim again in the future.

The key protective strategies are to make a list of all your accounts, and consider actioning the following points, for all of them.

• Change of password

• Setup 2FA of MFA – two factor authentication or multi. Sets up a second layer of protection for accessing the page.

• Check the security settings and any available access logs for your accounts. Look out for any users, telephone numbers, or email addresses you don’t recognise, and remove anything unfamiliar.

• Consider updating your privacy settings.
