đ¨Parking Ticket Fraud
âšď¸ Fraudsters are sending out text messages, purporting to be from the local authority, advising a parking fine has been issued and requires payment.
âPlease Pay a parking penalty charge notice (PCN) issued by a local council. If you do not pay a PCN within 28 days, youâll get a âcharge certificateâ and youâll have 14 days to pay the original fine plus 50% more. If you do not pay, youâll be prosecuted – you may have to pay a bigger fine as well as court costs. Please pay your fine at the link after reading the informationâ
Victims who have clicked the link have said it looked like a government site and when they put their vehicle registration into the link, it did not show a location only a PCN and shows another fine.  Â
